Engage and Play with Your Baby | Baby Café

Baby Café
December 16th, 11:00am to 12:00pm

Join Polly, Aurora Public Library’s Children’s Librarian to learn ways to engage your baby while spending some quiet time together, with finger plays, songs, and some tips on how and what to read with your baby.

New participants at the Baby Café will receive a copy of the board book, Sweetest Kulu.

This beautiful bedtime poem, written by acclaimed Inuit throat singer Celina Kalluk, describes the gifts given to a newborn baby by all the animals of the Arctic.

Lyrically and tenderly told by a mother speaking to her own little “Kulu,” an Inuktitut term of endearment often bestowed upon babies and young children, this visually stunning book is infused with the traditional Inuit values of love and respect for the land and its animal inhabitants.

Expecting and new parents are invited to attend interactive expert-facilitated virtual workshops. Each month will feature a different guest speaker and topic. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions and connect with other families.
