Scholars' Hub @ Home
November 4th, 12:00pm to 12:45pm

Amidst the global pandemic and nationwide protests over police brutality and recism, the US is holding its elections. This presentation will examine how the US political system functions, in particular systemic voter suppression against People of colour, the poor and women voters - and critical contestations by different populations to claim the vote.

The presenters will also reflect on the US presidential election, its implication for Canada and the world, and conceptions of democracy and the commons in the United Statesand beyond.

Presented by Adam Churchard, PHD Candidate, Politics, LA&PS and Dr. Anna Agathangelou, Professor, Department of Politics, Faculty of LA&PS.
