The Aurora Public Library has a collection of over 150,000 items accessible through our catalogue.

(a) International language materials
Permanent Collection
APL has a collection of French books (fiction and non-fiction) as well as small collections in Chinese, Dutch, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Temporary Collection
The Aurora Public Library is a member of Southern Ontario Multilingual Pool and receives books films in other languages on a temporary basis. We request the languages most popularly used, after English and French, spoken in Aurora. These items can be borrowed by APL library cardholders.
From spring 2007 to fall 2007, the APL's collection includes:

(b) Literacy Collection
APL has a small collection of books for adults learning to read. These fiction and non-fiction titles are kept in a section of the Library called Literacy Collection.
(c) Government Documents
APL has been designated a selective depository of federal and provincial government publications which means that it receives and is responsible for maintaining a large number of documents produced by the Governments of Canada and Ontario, its departments and agencies. The Library also receives publications from the Town of Aurora regarding the municipality.
(d) Canadian Reference Collection
APL maintains a Canadian Reference collection, devoted to the history of Aurora and Canada. This collection is located on the second floor of the Library and is accessible with the assistance of a staff member.
(e) Godfrey Medical Collection
APL houses the Godfrey Medical collection, focusing on the early practice of medicine in Ontario. This Collection is accessible with the assistance of a staff member.
