On the west-coast of Canada, a baby deer is found in the woods without its mother.  The big decision - leave the animal in the wild or rescue it?  Isobel Springett decides to carry the fawn (Pippin) back to her farm.  Eventually, Pippin becomes attached to Isobel's rather large dog, Kate.  Kate adopts Pippin as her own and together they form an inseparable bond, a bond which they display to the rest of the world through their loving nudges and playful manner.  Pippin returned to the wild and is now grown with her own deer family!  She has not forgotten her roots; she still comes to visit and run with her adoptive mom, Kate!
