In this amazing novel by Rachel Cohn, Miles and Laura are cousins - but sisters at heart. Ever since they were little and Miles' mother showed up on Laura's dad's door, they have had a deep connection. As little girls they were like twins - they went everywhere and did everything together. But as they started to get older, they began to grow apart. Bifocal Bifocal
By Deborah Ellis and Eric Walters

Haroon Badawi is a hardworking Muslim student devoted to his family. Jay Watson is a Caucasian rising football star devoted to his team. They may go to the same high school, however, their lives are as different as two teenagers' lives can get. That is, until one day when the high school they both go to is put in lock-down, and the police arrest a Muslim student suspected of terrorist affiliations. From that day on, Haroon and Jay find themselves trapped in an environment where racism and prejudice can be seen around every corner. In this heartwarming novel, Haroon and Jay set out on a painful journey of self-discovery, where they must question their friendships and the beliefs which they have always taken for granted.
Working together for the very first time, highly acclaimed Canadian authors Deborah Ellis and Eric Walters have created a compelling novel that will keep you turning the pages all the way 'til the end.

Perfect Perfect
By Natasha Friend

Natasha Friend's most realistically fictional book, 'Perfect', tells of a girl called Isabelle Lee and her totally IMPERFECT life. Isabelle's father died when she was younger, and her sister is totally annoying. What's even more frustrating is that she is totally uncool at school and she thinks she's a giant. That's all about to change when her little sister April catches Isabelle purging one night. April tells on Isabelle, and the next day, her mother forces her to go to "Group", where people who have eating disorders get rehabilitated. Isabelle refuses to go, but her mother forces her to go anyway. Isabelle's life would change from then on and when she finds out that supercool Ashley Barnum goes to group, she finally decides it isn't so bad. Ashley and Isabelle become closest friends, and bulimia, laxatives, binging and anorexia just bring them closer together. Group was supposed to help rehabilitate their mind and bodies, but it seems to do just the opposite to Isabelle and Ashley.
This book was an excellent read because I could relate to the characters and events that happened. Natasha has a wonderful gift for writing, and I would rate her book 9.5 out of 10. I would recommend this book to girls ages 10 - 15.

Holly's Story - Angels In Pink Holly's Story - Angels In Pink
By Lurlene McDaniel

Overall this book was pretty good from 1-10 I would rate this book an 8.
I thought that it was good and it kept your attention right from the beginning. I liked how in the book Hunter and Ben died. Even though I didn't want them to die, it seemed more like a real story when they did die. Having these characters die made it more like reality, when some books make it seem like life is supposed to be perfect.

The Warrior Heir The Warrior Heir
By Cinda Williams Chima

Chima crafts her magical world in a political system: five different guilds with different abilities and social characteristics. Not only does this create an interesting dynamic between higher and lower classes, it ensures a variety of different kinds of magic. My one grievance with the story is how long it takes to start. While the prologue is quite dramatic and hints at an intriguing story, it is not until several chapters after that that the plot begins to move forward. Once I got past the first few chapters, the book had me hooked. The Warrior Heir is an excellent book and should be read by any and all fans of the fantasy genre.
